GPT-4, ChatGPT, and its impact on white collar workers
The AI future is already here but we haven't fully realized it yet
Hey everyone,
It has been an eventful couple of months in the AI space. Something that lots of people (including myself) haven’t imagined happening.
Starting from the explosion of text-to-image generative models like DALLE-2, Stable Diffusion, and Midjourney around this time last year the generative AI models have completely conquered the attention of everyone in this world.
The generative AI trend went exponential with the release of the ChatGPT tool, which went viral even to the wildest surprise of ChatGPT creators at OpenAI.
Now that the widely anticipated GPT-4 is here as well (which reminds me of anticipation of new iPhone launches a few years ago), many believe that the field of Natural Language Processing is pretty much on the cusp of being solved.
I share the same sentiment and believe that massive generative AI models have gotten us through 80% of the work. The remaining 20% of the work remains in the hands of the developers and knowledge workers who use GPT-4 like tools.
This brings me to the main point of this substack post. White-collar work has already changed and you shouldn’t fight it. Instead, embrace the future of ChatGPT as a tool that already solves almost all of your knowledge problems and 10x yourself. I will give you actionable steps for that.
