Building a strong portfolio
Realize that the first step towards building a strong portfolio of projects for your resume is… sitting down, writing code, getting your hands dirty, and delivering results with your project. Unfortunately, there is no other way around it and you need to get your hands dirty to build your portfolio.
The skills that you gain while experimenting with machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP) models are valued by your prospective employer. Your understanding of specifics of the your projects and your willingness to deliver on them are the ultimate signal for your employer that you will get work done.
